Everything to know about Jordan Peele's Him, coming to theaters in September 2025
Oscar winner Jordan Peele is the mastermind behind the smash hit horror films Get Out, Us and Nope. If you enjoyed those films, you'll be glad to know that Peele isn't done exploring the horror genre. He has a new horror flick slated to come out in the fall of next year, and it's called Him. More on this film below.
Previously titled Goat, Him is produced by Jordan Peele and his Monkeypaw Productions. Ian Cooper, Win Rosenfeld, and Jamal Watson also produce the film under the Monkeypaw Productions banner. David Kern and Monkeypaw’s Kate Oh are signed on as executive producers, while American television director and screenwriter Justin Tipping is helming the movie from a screenplay that was written by Zack Akers and Skip Bronkie.
Tipping is best known for writing and directing the adventure film Kicks, and helming episodes of the TV shows The Chi, Twenties, Flatbush Misdemeanors and Joe vs. Carole. Akers and Bronkie are known for creating the scripted podcast fiction series Limetown.
Described as a psychological horror film, Him centers around a legendary yet aging quarterback who is tasked with training a promising young athlete at his isolated compound. Hilariously funny comedian and actor Marlon Wayans stars as the celebrated quarterback, while Tyriq Withers plays as the rising athlete. You might recognize Wayans from his starring role on the comedy sitcom The Wayans Bros.. He also had roles in the movies Scary Movie, Scary Movie 2, White Chicks, Little Man, A Haunted House, Sextuplets, The Curse of Bridge Hollow and Air.
Withers is known for his role as Tim in the drama series Tell Me Lies and Bobby in the sports drama series The Game. He also played the role of Rock in the comedy film Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead.
Joining Wayans and Withers in the cast are Julia Fox (Uncut Gems), Tim Heidecker (Us), Jim Jefferies (Legit), hip-hop artist Guapdad 4000, and Grammy nominee Tierra Whack. Their roles are undisclosed at the moment. The only other piece of information known about this movie is the theatrical release date, which Universal Pictures set for Sept. 19, 2025. Since the release date is far off from now, we're not expecting a trailer to drop anytime soon. However, we'll definitely make sure to share it once it's released. But for now, that's all we know about Him.
