It's Friday, which means it's officially time to kick back and relax. It's probably been a long week, and you deserve a little escape. If you're a horror fanatic like us, then you know that there’s no better way to start the weekend than by diving into a chilling horror movie marathon. Luckily, Peacock has a stacked horror library of films to watch and enjoy.
However, we know browsing through the streamer's vast collection can be overwhelming. That's why we did the hard work for you and rounded up five good horror movies currently streaming on Peacock that are guaranteed to keep you entertained. You can check out our list down below!
Nosferatu (2024)
- Director and writer: Robert Eggers
- Cast: Bill Skarsgård, Nicholas Hoult, Lily-Rose Depp, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Emma Corrin, Ralph Ineson, Willem Dafoe
Honestly, I was initially worried about this film. With it being a remake of such a classic horror movie, I wasn’t sure if it could live up to the iconic original. However, I'd say it did a good job of bringing something fresh to the table while also staying true to the eerie atmosphere and unsettling visuals that made the original so legendary.
Set in the 19th Century, this Gothic horror film centers around a young woman who finds herself the object of desire for the malevolent Count Orlok, an ancient Transylvanian vampire whose arrival in her German town ushers in a wave of dread and death.
The Black Phone (2022)
- Director: Scott Derrickson
- Writer: Scott Derrickson and C. Robert Cargill
- Cast: Mason Thames, Madeleine McGraw, Jeremy Davies, James Ransone, Ethan Hawke
Ethan Hawke isn't an Oscar-nominated actor for nothing, and his performance in The Black Phone is a clear example of why he's so highly regarded. In this supernatural horror, he stars as a serial killer known as The Grabber who kidnaps young boys and holds them captive in his soundproof basement. When 13-year-old Finney Blake finds himself abducted and trapped by The Grabber, he must use his wits and resourcefulness to survive and the advice he receives from The Grabber's previous slain victims to escape.
A sequel titled The Black Phone 2 is confirmed and will be released by Universal Pictures on Oct. 17, 2025.
Tragedy Girls (2017)
- Director: Tyler MacIntyre
- Writers: Tyler MacIntyre and Chris Lee Hill
- Cast: Alexandra Shipp, Brianna Hildebrand, Josh Hutcherson, Craig Robinson, Kevin Durand, Jack Quaid
Tragedy Girls is less on the serious side and more of a campy, darkly comedic take on the slasher genre. Sadie and McKayla are best friends living in a small Midwestern town. They run a true-crime blog and dream of becoming famous. In their quest for fame, they start staging real murders to gain followers, manipulating the fear in their small town for attention. As they ramp up their killings to draw in more viewers, their actions become more reckless and unpredictable, pushing them further into dangerous and unhinged behavior.
Villains (2019)
- Directors and writers: Dan Berk and Robert Olsen
- Cast: Bill Skarsgård, Maika Monroe, Blake Baumgartner, Jeffrey Donovan, Kyra Sedgwick
Alright. So another horror comedy to check out this weekend on Peacock is Villains. It might start off as your typical home invasion movie, but it quickly takes an even darker turn. When two criminals, Mickey and Jules, break into the mansion of a seemingly normal couple, George and Gloria, they uncover a chilling secret. The homeowners are holding a young girl captive in their basement. What follows is a twisted cat-and-mouse game as Mickey and Jules find themselves trying to outwit two people far more unhinged than they expected.
The Invisible Man (2020)
- Director and writer: Leigh Whannell
- Cast: Elisabeth Moss, Aldis Hodge, Storm Reid, Harriet Dyer, Michael Dorman, Oliver Jackson-Cohen
One of Blumhouse's best horror films is hands down The Invisible Man, and it is currently streaming on Peacock. It's a modern reimagining of the classic monster story. The story centers around Cecilia Kass, a young woman who, after escaping from an abusive relationship with a mad scientist, finds herself tormented by an unseen force. As increasingly bizarre and terrifying events unfold, Cecilia becomes convinced that her ex-boyfriend has discovered a way to turn invisible and is using this ability to stalk and manipulate her. However, no one believes her claims. This forces her to take matters into her own hands and find a way to prove her sanity while desperately trying to regain control of her life.
