ID is getting in the Halloween spirit with two new docuseries with titles that might sound familiar to horror movie fans. I have always been of the opinion that true crime stories often fit right into the realm of horror, and each of these series solidifies my thoughts on the matter.
The Friday the 13th Murders is a brand new six-part series that dives into dark true crime cases that occurred on the date that all superstitious people fear: Friday the 13th.
The first episode will air on ID on Wednesday, October 1 at 10:00 ET, and is titled Obsession to Do Evil. In the premiere episode, a teenager who is obsessed with both serial killers and Satan goes on a night-long murderous rampage that changes the community forever.
Additional Episodes of The Friday the 13th Murders will air each Wednesday at 10: p.m., and include:
We All Go a Little Mad (October 8) – “On a dark and stormy night, the police find a family dead in their mansion. A horror film flickers. A bloody mask lies nearby. And In a letter to the victim’s mother, the voice of the demon in The Exorcist hints at something darker than murder-suicide.”
Cape Fear Killer (October 15) – For many years, women had been attacked and turned up missing in a small town. When a shocking breakthrough is made, law enforcement come to the realization that the killer has been there all along.
Feared Silent (October 22) – When Jose Herran didn’t call his mother on her birthday, she knew something was wrong. Herran had disappeared, and investigators found that two men were most likely involved in a plot to kill him.
I Will Kill (October 29) – Amber Dubois was only 14 years old when she disappeared on Friday the 13th. A year later, 17-year-old Chelsea went missing near the same area, and law enforcement sprang into action to prevent any other Friday the 13th murders to happen in their town.
She Had No Name –(November 5) – “A young woman vanishes after entering a patrol car. For 35 years, she’s a Jane Doe. As fear and rumors consume a small town, a chilling clue under hypnosis cracks the case open and exposes a predator no one saw coming.”

In addition to The Friday the 13th Murders, the second season of The Real Murders on Elm Street will also make its premiere on October 1, 9:00 ET. The six-episode series explores incredible murder cases that occurred on Elm Streets across the US, usually in quiet neighborhoods.
The season premiere episode is Someone’s Watching Her, and gives us the story of a 20-year-old woman who vanished in Toledo, Ohio. A cryptic message led law enforcement to an old warehouse on Elm Street, where they discovered shocking evidence.
Other episodes:
Trailing a Killer (October 8) – 20-year-old Tara Gillon’s body was found by her father on New Year’s Eve in their home in Massachusetts. The only clues were a trail of footprints in the snow, and one shoe. Could the shoe actually lead to Tara’s murderer?
Mommy’s Dead (October 15) – When a 3-year-old boy whispered, “Mommy’s dead”, police discover a horrific murder scene at his Elm Street home. Can the killer be captured before he murders another family?
Laced with Powder (October 22) – A barber is found dead in his shop, with white powder sprinkled on his body. An investigation found that he had recently come into a large sum of money, leaving police to find out if the motive was robbery or something else.
Savage Woods (October 29) – A hunter finds a body in the Pennsylvania woods, and at first it’s believed to be a bear attack. But a subsequent confession finds brings another possibility to light.
Nightmare Before Christmas (November 5) – Police receive a phone call on Christmas Eve and respond, only to find two women who had been tied up and suffocated. As it turns out, the victims owned a large portion of Elm Street, and “the killer may be closer than anyone dares to imagine.”
