Jack Ryan and Perry Mason stars teaming up for serial killer thriller series

Jack Ryan is teaming up with Perry Mason for a new serial killer drama. Actors John Krasinski, who played Ryan in Prime Video's political thriller series for four seasons, will collaborate and co-star with Perry Mason and The Americans alum Matthew Rhys.
According to Deadline, their latest project is titled Silent River, and it takes place in small-town America, focusing on telling the story of two men who are more connected than they realize. The show will delve into the drama that emerges when residents of one of these towns learn that a serial killer is living amongst them. Who wants to bet whether Rhys or Krasinski will likely be the killer?
Having just wrapped Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan after four seasons last year, Krasinski will continue collaborating with Amazon as part of his overall first-look deal with his and Allyson Seeger's Sunday Night Production company. Additionally, Krasinski and Rhys will serve as executive producers on Silent River, with The Office star directing the pilot and additional episodes.
Aaron Rabin, whose credits include Jack Ryan and Marvel's Secret Invasion, created Silent River and he also executive produces.
Amazon hasn't shared much else about Silent River beyond the brief description, but Amazon's co-head of television, Vernon Sanders, describes it as a "thought-provoking psychological thriller."
Rhys is obviously no stranger to this genre, but neither is Krasinski. Both of their previous hit shows were political thrillers, though I imagine Silent River will be more tonally similar to The Americans (and maybe Fargo) than Jack Ryan.
Besides his work with Amazon and on The Office, Krasinski is best known for directing and starring in the A Quiet Place franchise. He directed the first two films of the franchise and produced the most recent entry, A Quiet Place: Day One. His most recent work was the comedy fantasy film IF, which he wrote, directed, starred in, and produced. Rhys actually appears briefly in the movie. Krasinski will next star alongside Natalie Portman in the Guy Ritchie film Fountain of Youth.
Rhys played Phillips Jennings across all six seasons of The Americans, picking up an Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor for his performance in the final season. He later played Perry Mason in the HBO series, but the show was canceled after just two seasons. Still, Rhys has plenty of projects in the works along with Silent River, such as the BBC One show Towards Zero, the Netflix series The Beast in Me, and Hallow Road, a thriller co-starring Rosamund Pike.
