Oh, the signs of impending Halloween fun…spooky décor, crisp fall leaves, pumpkin spice everything, and AMC’s FearFest! AMC and AMC+ have made some announcements about 2025’s FearFest lineup, as well as stating that Janelle Monae will be returning as the official host.
FearFest is AMC’s long-running October seasonal event, and it includes massive amounts of horror films, specials, series and much, much more. Monae will also be featured in AMC’s social campaign, allowing her to share her favorite horror and thrillers. She has also compiled a list of her faves to create a collection on AMC+, and you can stream her choices all October long.
Says Monae: ““Halloween is a time to investigate fears, transform them, and celebrate the unknown. Horror has always been a space to honor the horror classics, like the films that shaped me, while championing bold new voices and reinventing the way stories are told.”
Janelle Monae is known for both her style and her music, and has been nominated for Grammys ten times now. Additionally, she has appeared in Antebellum and Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, for which she received a National Board of Review Best Supporting Actress award in 2023.
Monae is also best-selling author – her book The Memory Librarian: And Other Stories from Dirty Computer hit the New York Times’ bestsellers list in 2022. As if that’s not enough, she was honored by Trevor Project as the Suicide Prevention Advocate of the Year, and co-chairs for When We All Vote.
FearFest Favorites Collection by Janelle Monae will include the following horror movies:

The Birds, Carrie (1976), Child’s Play (1988), Halloween (1978), Jeepers Creepers, Late Night with the Devil, Leprechaun, The Others, Psycho, Rear Window, The Rule of Jenny Pen, Speak No Evil, Vertigo, and even more.
This year’s FearFest programming will include older franchise favorites like A Nightmare on Elm Street, Friday the 13th, Halloween, Final Destination and a vast Stephen King library. Also included will be new episodes of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, new Anne Rice Universe series Talamasca: The Secret Order, and The Last Drive-In with Joe Bob Briggs holiday special that includes a double feature screening of Freddy vs. Jason and A Nightmare on Elm Street.
Not enough Halloween horror for you? There will also be themed marathons, such as Creature Feature (Lake Placid, Tremors, Pet Sematary) and Fear the 80s (featuring Silver Bullet, Chirstine, The Lost Boys and Poltergeist).
