In the new Steven Soderbergh thriller Presence, Julia Fox is a real estate lawyer who sells a home in the suburbs to a family haunted by a ghost, or a "presence."

It turns out the Uncut Gems actress and model knows a little something about the subject matter. She was on Late Night with Seth Meyers promoting the film and shared that she lives with a ghost in her home.

"I actually have a ghost that lives in my house right now. I feel like I talk about her a lot, and I feel so bad. I am, like, putting her on blast. Like, I do not know if she wants me to talk about her! Her name is Beauty, and she came with the house; she did not follow me there," she said.

Fox and her four-year-old son, Valentino, had just moved into the house when she noticed a note from the previous owners in the basement: "This is Beauty." The spirit's former hairbrush and mirror were with it. Instead of freaking out in terror, like in most haunted house stories on the big screen, Fox decided co-habitation was the way to go.

Get that? The owners sold the place and knew a spirit was loitering in the basement. Classy. To make matters more concerning—or fascinating, depending on your vantage point—while her son is roaming the halls of the $2.9 million Harlem townhouse, he sees Beauty.

"My son actually sees her," Fox said. "I don’t see her, but my son will say, ‘I saw her, I saw her.’"

The Conjuring? The Amityville Horror? Poltergeist? Paranormal Activity? Those are all family-friendly films, right? Maybe Presence is different, other than the entire apparition perspective thing.

"She is wonderful. She is like the matriarch of the house...she watches over us and we love her."

Presence also stars Lucy Liu, Callina Liang, Eddy Maday, and Chris Sullivan. Soderbergh (Traffic, Contagion, Oceans 11 trilogy) and NEON brought on David Koepp (Jurassic World: Rebirth, You Should Have Left, Stir of Echoes) to write the ghostly tale. Its national release is this weekend, beginning Jan. 24.
