Lauren LaVera from Terrifier 3 lands new role in Darren Lynn Bousman’s The Monster
We have exciting news for horror fans! Lauren LaVera, the standout star of Terrifier 3, has reportedly joined the cast of Darren Lynn Bousman’s chilling new project, The Monster. She will be taking on a co-starring role. We've learned of this news from Deadline.
The Monster is described as a horror-thriller. It was just announced last week to be in the works with Darren Lynn Bousman signed on to direct and Jonathan Bernstein and James Greer writing the script. Bousman is best known for helming many of the Saw films, while Bernstein and Greer previously worked together on the psychological thriller film Unsane.
Now that LaVera has officially joined The Monster cast, she'll be starring opposite Djimon Hounsou (A Quiet Place Part II, A Quiet Place: Day One), who was announced last week to be coming on board. Unfortunately, who Hounsou will be portraying in the horror-thriller is unknown at the moment. It's also unknown who LaVera will be playing. What we do know is that the cameras are set to start rolling this November in Danbury, Connecticut.
The Monster follows two millennials who make quick money by illegally renting out luxurious apartments they don’t own in New York City to unsuspecting renters. Their operation initially goes off without a hitch until they cross paths with an apartment owner harboring a dark secret, who ultimately turns the tables on them.
LaVera is a talented up-and-coming actress. Before people knew her as Sienna Shaw in Terrifier 2 and Terrifer 3, she was taking on minor roles in other movies and shows. Some of her other acting projects include roles in the films The Well, Split and Wetlands. She also had small roles in the TV shows Iron Fist, MacGyver and Law & Order: Organized Crime.
We'll see her next in Mike Flanagan's sci-fi film The Life of Chuck, which is set to be released by Neon sometime in 2025. In addition, she'll be in the upcoming horror flick The Fetus. Now that she has secured a role in The Monster, we can't wait to see her back on our screens!
