Say it ain't so! Netflix has unveiled its complete lineup of shows and movies coming and leaving its platform in June 2025, and guess what film made the departure list? M. Night Shyamalan's Trap. With this movie not being a Netflix original and instead licensed for a limited time, it’s no surprise it’s heading off the platform. However, we just aren't ready to say goodbye to this suspenseful thriller so soon.
Netflix just added Trap to its library mid-March with the exact release date being March 11, 2025. The streaming giant has now set the film's departure date for Wednesday, June 11, 2025. That means Netflix only had the rights to stream the film for a three-month window, which is pretty short if you ask me. Unfortunately, there's nothing we can do about it except make sure to watch the movie or rewatch it before it disappears. Who knows if it'll ever return to Netflix in the future! We can only hope.
However, it's not all bad news. The thriller will still be available to stream on Max, which is basically its streaming home. But just know that you'll need a subscription to the streaming service in order to watch the film. If you don't have a subscription to Max or would just rather rent or purchase the movie, you can do so through digital platforms such as Prime Video, Google Play, Fandango at Home, or Apple TV+.

Trap is M. Night Shyamalan's latest thriller. He wrote and directed this film, which was released in theaters by Warner Bros. Pictures in August 2024. It stars Josh Hartnett in the leading role of Cooper, a seemingly loving husband and father who harbors a dark secret. Cooper is not who he presents himself to the public as. He's actually a notorious serial killer known as “The Butcher.”
He’s managed to keep his dark secret hidden until one pivotal night when he takes his teenage daughter to a pop concert, completely unaware that the event is actually a carefully planned sting operation set up by the authorities to bring him down. Cooper must then rely on his wits and instincts to evade capture, all while trying to protect his daughter from the truth.
Ariel Donoghue portrays the role of Cooper's teen daughter, Riley. Saleka Night Shyamalan, Alison Pill, Hayley Mills, Jonathan Langdon, Marnie McPhail, Scott Mescudi, Russell "Russ" Vitale, and others are also in the cast. M. Night Shyamalan even makes a cameo appearance in his own film, something he’s known for doing in many of his projects.
Now that you know when Trap will be departing Netflix, it's best that you get to watching it soon. You don't want to look up and realize it’s already gone. Missing out on this intense thriller would be a real shame!
Trap is set to leave Netflix on June 11, which means the last day to watch the movie on the streaming platform is June 10.
