We can hardly believe it! One of the most gripping thriller series on TV is back. After more than a year of anticipation, Yellowjackets season 3 is finally here, and we're more than ready to see what our favorite girls' soccer team has been up to in the wilderness following last season's shocking events. Their adult counterparts also faced a tragic death last season, so the emotional toll of that loss is bound to have some effect on them in the new installment.
Judging by the thrilling season 3 trailer, we'd say we're definitely in for a dark and intense season. While the survivors in the 1996 timeline seem to finally be in a good place now that the harsh winter is over and summer has come, tensions within the group and growing distrust in leadership threaten their survival and chances of rescue. Meanwhile, their adult selves in the present timeline struggle to keep their lives together as long-hidden secrets from their pasts start to emerge.
Yellowjackets season 3 sees Melanie Lynskey, Christina Ricci, Tawny Cypress, Lauren Ambrose, Sophie Nélisse, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Sophie Thatcher, Samantha Hanratty, Courtney Eaton, Liv Hewson, Steven Krueger, Warren Kole, Kevin Alves, Sarah Desjardin, Simone Kessell, and Elijah Wood return. In addition, Hilary Swank and Joel McHale join the season 3 cast in new roles.
When is Yellowjackets season 3 coming out?
Like the first season, Yellowjackets season 3 consists of 10 episodes, each in the 50-minute range. This marks an increase of one episode compared to last season, which had nine episodes. However, where you'll be able to watch the new season is where things get tricky. Technically, Yellowjackets is a Showtime original series, which means it airs on the Showtime television network.
However, it also streams on Paramount+ for subscribers with the Paramount+ with Showtime plan. In fact, the first two episodes of Yellowjackets season 3 are already available to stream on Paramount+, as they dropped on Feb. 14 at 12:00 a.m. PT/3:00 a.m. ET. These same two episodes will then air on Showtime two days later on Feb. 16 at 5:00 p.m. PT/8:00 p.m. ET. After that, a new episode will be available to stream on Paramount+ every Friday before it airs on Showtime the following Sunday night.
