57 horror movies are coming to Paramount+ in September 2024

Farewell, August! September is almost here, and we're looking forward to all the new content slated to be released on Paramount+ soon. Next month, there will be so many horror movies to check out on the streaming platform. We're talking over 50 horror titles. Can you believe it? It's probably the best month Paramount+ has had this year when it comes to horror content.

Below, we shared every horror movie set to drop on Paramount+ this September, including the highly anticipated Apartment 7A starring 3x Emmy winner Julia Garner.

Annabelle: Creation (2017)

Paramount+ release date: Sept. 1, 2024

Serving as a prequel to Annabelle (2014), Annabelle: Creation tells the origin story of the cursed Annabelle doll. Set in the 1950s, we follow a toy maker and his wife who decide to open their home to a nun and six orphaned girls 12 years after the tragic loss of their daughter, Annabelle. But things take a dark turn when one of the girls discovers a creepy doll in Annabelle's old room. The doll turns out to be possessed by an evil spirit, and it's out to get the nun and the girls.

Doctor Sleep (2019)

Paramount+ release date: Sept. 1, 2024

Doctor Sleep is a supernatural horror film based on Stephen King's 2013 book of the same name. It also serves as a sequel to the psychological horror movie The Shining (1980). We follow Danny Torrance, the young boy with psychic abilities from The Shining who is now an adult and goes by Dan. Dan still struggles with the traumatic experiences he endured as a child while staying at the Overlook Hotel and has even turned to alcohol as a vice.

He eventually moves to a small town in New Hampshire, where he lands a job working at a hospice. He even befriends a young girl named Abra Stone, who also has psychic abilities. They become friends after they form a telepathic connection. However, things go awry when a cult of evil beings begins hunting down Abra for her powers. Now, it's up to Dan to protect her.

Halloween H20: 20 Years Later (1998)

Paramount+ release date: Sept. 1, 2024

Halloween H20: 20 Years Later serves as a direct sequel to Halloween (1978) and Halloween II (1981). Twenty years after narrowly surviving an attack by Michael Myers, Laurie Strode is now working as a headmistress of a private boarding school. However, she still suffers from the trauma she endured from the attack that happened two decades earlier. As Halloween nears, she becomes increasingly paranoid that Michael will make his return to kill her. This ends up happening, and Laurie is forced to confront him in a final showdown.

The Last Exorcism Part II (2013)

Paramount+ release date: Sept. 1, 2024

The Last Exorcism Part II is a sequel to The Last Exorcism (2010), and it continues the story of Nell Sweetzer. Nell is a young woman who was previously possessed by a demonic entity in The Last Exorcism. In the second film, she attempts to rebuild her life and leave her past in the past. However, she quickly realizes this won't be easy seeing as though the same demonic force that possessed her before is trying to claim her again.

Apartment 7A (2024)

Paramount+ release date: Sept. 27, 2024

Apartment 7A serves as a prequel to the psychological horror film Rosemary's Baby (1968). Taking place in 1965 New York City, we follow an ambitious dancer named Terry Gionoffrio who after suffering an injury is forced to temporarily put her dreams on hold. A wealthy, elderly couple then offers her a room in their home at the infamous apartment building the Bramford and eventually things start looking up for her. But after experiencing a strange occurrence, Terry begins to realize that something sinister is going on at the Bramford.
