A famous pop star is the next victim of the smile curse in trailer for Smile 2
The official trailer for one of the most highly anticipated horror films of 2024 has finally dropped, and we're here to share it with you! Of course, we're talking about Smile 2, which is set for a release in theaters on Oct. 18, 2024. It'll be out just in time for Halloween!
Smile 2 is a psychological supernatural horror film. It's also a sequel to the box office hit Smile, which starred Sosie Bacon as a therapist who finds herself tormented and then possessed by an evil entity that ultimately drives its victims to suicide through its "smile curse." Like the first film, Smile 2 was written and directed by Parker Finn. It stars Naomi Scott as a famous pop star named Skye Riley, who is preparing to go on a new world tour. We follow Skye as she becomes the next victim of the smile curse.
As you can see in the gripping trailer below, Skye begins to experience hallucinations of people with creepy smiles after becoming the new possessor of the parasitic curse. Now, she must do everything in her power to get rid of the curse once and for all. However, is that really possible? There were various attempts at getting rid of the curse in the first film, and we saw how that ended up. I guess we'll just have to watch the sequel for ourselves to see how everything turns out.
Take a look at the official trailer to get pumped up for Smile 2's upcoming release in theaters!
Strange Darling's Kyle Gallner reprises his role as Joel from the first film in the sequel. Joining him and Scott in the Smile 2 cast are other talented actors such as Rosemarie DeWitt, Lukas Gage, Miles Gutierrez-Riley, Peter Jacobson, Raúl Castillo, Dylan Gelula, and Ray Nicholson.
Since Smile 2 is being distributed by Paramount Pictures, we can most likely expect the film to be eventually released on Paramount+ sometime after its theatrical release. That's where Paramount Pictures theatrical movies usually stream after theaters. Also, it'll most likely be given a digital release before it hits streaming. Don't worry! We'll let you know immediately once all these juicy deets are announced. But for now, the only way you'll be able to see Smile 2 is by heading to the theaters once it comes out.
Smile 2 will be released in U.S. theaters on Oct. 18, 2024.
