The entity terrorizes Naomi Scott in terrifying teaser trailer for Smile 2

"You witnessed a death, and now it's latched onto you." Words spoken in the new teaser trailer for Smile 2, hint at the story to come as the next part of this chilling horror story unfolds. Filmmaker Parker Finn returns to write and direct the sequel, which is releasing in theaters this October.
For the past week, the Smile 2 marketing team has been hard at work introducing online fans to fictional pop star Skye Riley, played by Naomi Scott, Smile 2's protagonist. Now that the first teaser is here, we finally have an idea of what to expect from the film.
Like the first movie, it looks like the sequel will start with Skye witnessing the brutal death of someone who the entity has infected. The teaser shows Lukas Gage's character, Louis (or Lewis?), bludgeoning himself to death with a weight plate while he smiles creepily at a helpless Skye.
Based on that, it seems like Gage is only in the beginning of the movie, and his death serves as a catalyst for the remainder of the film. His death scene looks to be particularly brutal, which was previously teased by the actor who said he was "shocked" by how intense it was to film, and he almost threw up, telling The Hollywood Reporter that while he didn't end up puking, he did dry heave.
After Louis dies, Skye starts to see that creepy a** smile everywhere she goes. Her fans can't stop staring at her, and there are plenty of clips in the teaser showing Skye terrified of everyone around her, to the point she has a breakdown and screams at everyone to stop smiling at her.
At one point, it looks like Skye lands herself in a psychiatric ward—maybe the same one from the first movie where Rose (Sosie Bacon) once worked. Speaking of the first film, the very end of the Smile 2 trailer appears to show Kyle Gallner's character Joel running away from something before he gets hit by a car, though we don't see the impact, so it's probably just a fake out.
You can also purchase Skye Riley's hit song "Blood on White Satin" right now!
