Calling all horror fans! We have good news to share. If you didn't get the chance to see Ti West's MaXXXine in theaters back in July, you'll soon have the chance to watch it in the comfort of your own home via a streaming service. Yes, you read that right. The box-office hit is set to be released on Max this October, just in time for spooky season!

The exact streaming release date is Friday, Oct. 18, 2024. Then, MaXXXine will make its linear debut on HBO the following day. The date and time are Saturday, Oct. 19, 2024, at 5:00 p.m. PT/8:00 p.m. ET.

MaXXXine is a horror film written and helmed by Ti West. It's the third and final movie in West's X trilogy, which also includes X (2022) and Pearl (2022). In addition, it's a direct sequel to X. Set in 1980s Los Angeles, the film follows aspiring actress Maxine Minx, the sole survivor of the farmhouse massacre in X. As Maxine pursues her dream of becoming a mainstream actress in Hollywood, she finds herself the target of a mysterious killer.

Mia Goth reprises her role as Maxine Minx in the film, while Elizabeth Debicki, Moses Sumney, Michelle Monaghan, Bobby Cannavale, Halsey, Lily Collins, Giancarlo Esposito, and Kevin Bacon join her in the cast.

Back in April and June, A24 released two trailers for MaXXXine. You can check them out below.

Like X and Pearl, MaXXXine is rated R. Since this movie is a slasher, it's not surprising that it's R-rated. It was given this maturity rating for strong violence, gore, sexual content, graphic nudity, language, and drug use. Obviously, this type of content wouldn't be appropriate for younger audiences. So, we recommend waiting to watch this film when no kids are around.

After watching MaXXXine, you might feel inclined to want to watch the other two movies in the trilogy. Well, the only way you can watch X at the moment is by renting or purchasing the movie on digital platforms. However, Pearl is available to stream on Netflix and Paramount+. You can also rent or buy this film via digital platforms.
