When it comes to the horror genre, there are a select amount of production companies that are known for producing high-quality horror content. A24 is one of those companies, and then there's also Blumhouse Productions.

Blumhouse, originally named Blum Israel Productions, was founded in 2000 by Jason Blum and Amy Israel. It's known for producing popular horror movies such as the Paranormal Activity film series, the Insidious franchise, The Purge franchise, the Halloween franchise (2018-2022) and so many more.

Since we're such a big fan of Blumhouse, we decided to share some of the company's best horror films and where you can stream them. Check out our list below!

The Black Phone (2022)

The Black Phone is a supernatural horror film helmed by Scott Derrickson from a screenplay he co-wrote with C. Robert Cargill. It follows a 13-year-old boy named Finney who becomes abducted by a local serial killer known as "The Grabber" and then locked in his soundproof basement.

While trying to find a way to escape, he comes across an old rotary phone that allows him to communicate with the ghosts of The Grabber's previous victims. With their help, Finney tries his best to outwit his captor and escape. Be on the lookout for the upcoming sequel, The Black Phone 2, which is currently set for a theatrical release on Oct. 17, 2025.

M3GAN (2022)

M3GAN was hands down one of the best horror movies to come out in 2022. It's a sci-fi horror flick directed by Gerard Johnstone from a screenplay written by Akela Cooper. When robotics engineer Gemma decided to gift her niece Cady a highly advanced AI doll named M3GAN, she thought it would be the perfect gift to help her cope with her parent's tragic death.

While that is the case initially, things take a dark turn when M3GAN starts to become increasingly overprotective of Cady and violent toward others, eliminating anyone she sees as a threat. Now, it's up to Gemma to put a stop to M3GAN before it's too late. A sequel, M3GAN 2.0, is currently in the works and will hit theaters on June 27, 2025.

Totally Killer (2023)

Totally Killer is a slasher that can also serve as a horror-comedy. It was directed by Nahnatchka Khan from a screenplay co-written by David Matalon, Sasha Perl-Raver, and Jen D'Angelo. The story follows a 17-year-old girl named Jamie who, after accidentally traveling back in time to 1987, makes it her mission to stop a notorious killer known as the "Sweet Sixteen Killer" from starting his initial murder spree that claimed the life of her mother.

Five Nights at Freddy's (2023)

  • Cast: Josh Hutcherson, Elizabeth Lail, Piper Rubio, Mary Stuart Masterson, Matthew Lillard
  • Where to stream: Amazon Prime Video

Based on the popular video game series of the same name by Scott Cawthon, Five Nights at Freddy's centers around Mike Schmidt, a troubled security guard working at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza, an abandoned family entertainment center that was once popular. On the first night on the job, Mike discovers that the animatronic mascots at the pizzeria come to life after midnight and are not friendly at all.

He later discovers that they're possessed by the vengeful spirits of children who were killed at the restaurant. With the homicidal animatronic characters after him, Mike must do everything he can to fend off their attacks and survive. There is a sequel currently being made titled Five Nights at Freddy's 2. It will be released in theaters on Dec. 5, 2025.

Happy Death Day (2017)

Happy Death Day is another one of Blumhouse's horror-comedy films. It follows a college student named Tree Gelbman who, on the night of her birthday, is murdered by a masked assailant. But instead of actually dying, she wakes up in the same bed and realizes that she's reliving the day of her murder. Although Tree finds this to be weird, she continues on with her day but makes sure to try to avoid being killed. Her plan doesn't end up working, though, and the masked murderer finds and kills her again.

After waking up in the same bed, she realizes she's trapped in a time loop. Determined to break the loop, she begins to gather clues each time she starts a new one to identify her killer's identity and put a stop to the loop once and for all.

The Invisible Man (2020)

  • Cast: Elisabeth Moss, Aldis Hodge, Storm Reid, Harriet Dyer, Michael Dorman, Oliver Jackson-Cohen
  • Where to stream: Freevee

The Invisible Man is a sci-fi horror film based on the 1897 novel of the same title by H. G. Wells. It also serves as a reboot of the 1933 movie of the same name. The film revolves around a young woman named Cecilia Kass who begins to experience a series of strange events after learning that her abusive ex-boyfriend, Adrian, has seemingly committed suicide.

These events lead her to suspect that Adrian is still alive and has made himself invisible in order to continue to torment her. However, no one believes her claims. So, she must take matters into her own hands and put a stop to him by herself.
