New Peacock series Hysteria! is a pop-horror nightmare set during the height of the 1980s Satanic panic, primarily revolving around a small midwestern town plagued by a series of mysterious kidnappings and a teenage metal band who thinks using the satanic fervor could raise their band to new heights.

Following up on the previous teaser, Peacock just shared the official full-length trailer for the series, which drops all eight episodes on Friday, October 18.

The show takes place in a sleepy small town in Michigan, the type of unassuming locale where bad things don't usually happen often. But things kick off with a brutal assault and kidnapping that leaves the town's star quarterback dead, and that's just the start of what will be a series of strange occurrences and attacks. Many of the town's adults, especially the religiously inclined ones, start believing that a satanic force is behind the carnage.

Inspired by the uptick in panic and religious fervor, a group of high school teenagers decide to use satanism to give their metal band an added edge. But by pretending they're hardcore Satanists, it puts a target right on their backs when the townsfolk start a witch hunt for the perpetrators.

I've seen a few episodes of Hysteria! and really enjoyed it. I think the above trailer does a great job of setting up what to expect from the series; it's going to be one to watch this fall season.

The regular cast includes Julie Bowen, Anna Camp, Emjay Anthony, Chiara Aurelia, Kezii Curtis, and Nikki Hahn, while featuring special guest stars like Bruce Campbell, Nolan North, Garrett Dillahunt, Elijah Richardson, Milly Shapiro, Allison Scagliotti, and Jessica Treska.

Besides Hysteria!, Peacock is also releasing another original horror series this season with Teacup, so keep your eyes out for both of those shows when they hit the streaming service next month!

Matthew Scott Kane created the show and executive produces alongside David A. Goodman (The Orville), John Francis Daley, and Jonathan Goldstein.

All episodes of Hysteria! start streaming on Friday, October 18 on Peacock. USA Network and SYFY will simulcast the first episode, with USA Network airing episodes each Friday.
