No One Will Save You (2023)

Directed and written by: Brian Duffield

No One Will Save You stars Emmy-nominated actress Kaitlyn Dever as a young woman named Brynn, who has been alienated by the rest of the townspeople and lives alone in her childhood home. One night, she wake up to a blood-chilling noise and discovers an alien in her home. To all the alien lovers, you'll enjoy watching this film. But if you have a deep fear of aliens one day taking over the world, you might find it scary and quite unsettling. Just as a heads-up, the film is pretty much dialogue-free.

Prey (2022)

Written by: Patrick Aison

Serving as a prequel to the first four movies in the Predator franchise, Prey follows a highly skilled young Comanche woman named Naru, who has always dreamed of becoming a hunter like her brother. Her dream soon comes true, but not in the way she thought, when an alien predator lands in her village and begins hunting her people. Now, she has to step up to the plate to protect her tribe from not only the humanoid alien but also the French fur traders who are after their village's food source.

Amber Midthunder, who is known for previously starring in Roswell, New Mexico, portrays Naru. The rest of the cast is made up of Dakota Beavers, Dane DiLiegro, Michelle Thrush, Stormee Kipp, Julian Black Antelope, Bennett Taylor, and others.

The Babadook (2014)

Directed and written by: Jennifer Kent

Based on the 2005 short film Monster by Jennifer Kent, The Babadook is described as a terrifying thriller that centers around a widowed single mother who does everything in her power to protect her son from a sinister supernatural entity that haunts them physically and psychologically.

Well-known Australian actress and singer Essie Davis portrays the troubled single mother, Amelia Vanek, while young actor Noah Wiseman plays Amelia's 6-year-old son, Samuel Vanek. Actors such as Hayley McElhinney, Daniel Henshall, Barbara West, and Ben Winspear are also in the film.

Clock (2023)

Directed and written by: Alexis Jacknow

Who would've thought we'd see Glee actress Dianna Agron in a horror film? In Clock, she stars as Ella, a 37-year-old woman who has no interest in having kids but is constantly pressured by her friends and family to have some. She eventually gives in and seeks medical help to try to change herself and fix her seemingly broken biological clock. But after undergoing a set of dangerous psychological experiments and taking mysterious meds, she begins having horrific hallucinations and starts acting erratically. Jay Ali, Melora Hardin, Saul Rubinek, Grace Porter, and Stefan Sims also join Agron in the cast.

If you're sensitive to themes of body horror, you'll definitely be disturbed by this movie. There were a few times where I literally jumped while watching this film, but it was the gruesome body horror that did it for me.
