If you're like me (and seemingly every other TikTok user), and found yourself fully absorbed in the 50-part TikTok saga "Who TF Did I Marry?" from Tareasa Johnson (also known as Reesa Teesa), then Netflix's next documentary series might be perfect for you.

Produced by Blumhouse Television and ITV America, Worst Ex Ever marks Blumhouse TV's first official television franchise. It follows the other Blumhouse/Netflix hit, Worst Roommate Ever, which aired its second season on June 26. Both seasons ranked in Netflix's Global 10 (English) and the Top 10 TV chart in over 75 countries, including holding the #1 spot in the US for a week.

Blumhouse is the same studio behind horror franchises like M3GAN, The Black Phone, and Insidious. Jason Blum serves as an executive producer on Worst Ex Ever alongside Chris McCumber, Gretchen Palek, Jordana Hochman, and Cynthia Childs. Childs also directed the series. Her previous credits include directing BTK: Confession of a Serial Killer for A&E.

Given the success of Worst Roommate Ever, it makes sense for the streamer to order a follow-up series and this one will take viewers on a dark ride into some disturbing relationships. Featuring body cam footage, crime scene photos, testimonials, and animated reenactments, Worst Ex Ever will pull the curtain back on several twisted love stories.

Based on the trailer, Worst Ex Ever is going to be a heavy series containing frequent mentions of domestic violence, so keep that in mind before hitting play. Releasing on August 28, it features four 60-minute episodes. Currently, the doc is rated TV-MA for language, but the trailer will give you a better idea of what kind of content to expect.

Netflix describes Worst Ex Ever as being "built around the universal feeling of wondering how much you really know about your partner" and promises "shocking tales of betrayal, violence, and deceit."

The streaming service has been incredibly successful in the true crime genre and regularly releases these types of documentary films and series. In addition to the new season of Worst Roommate Ever and the upcoming debut of Worst Ex Ever, another volume of Unsolved Mysteries is on the way and will begin streaming on July 31.
