Horror fans rejoice! We finally have a Netflix release date for the upcoming horror-comedy It's What's Inside, and as expected, it's been set for an October release. Honestly, Netflix has been slacking on the horror content this year, but it looks like it's about to make it up to us by dropping this film just in time for Halloween.

Mark your calendar and set your alarm because It's What's Inside is coming to Netflix on Friday, Oct. 4, 2024, at 12:00 a.m. PT/3:00 a.m. ET. Of course, we can't leave our Midwest people hanging. If you're in the Central time zone, this new movie will be released at 2:00 a.m. CT on Oct. 4. Also, as a heads up, it's reportedly a rated R horror flick. This means it may be inappropriate for ages under 17. According to IMDb, it was given this age rating for pervasive language, sexual content, drug use, and some violent content.

It's What's Inside was written and directed by Greg Jardin. This is Jardin's first feature, with him previously having written and helmed short films and music videos. Although the movie is being described as a horror-comedy, it also has sci-fi and thriller elements.

We follow a group of old college friends who reunite for a pre-wedding party, only for things to take a left turn when an estranged friend shows up with a mysterious suitcase. He has a body-swapping machine, and he suggests to the others that they play a game with it. Of course, this can only end badly, and that's exactly what happens. Secrets, desires, and grudges are revealed, and the night descends into chaos.

The cast is made up of Brittany O’Grady, James Morosini, Alycia Debnam-Carey, Devon Terrell, Gavin Leatherwood, Reina Hardesty, Nina Bloomgarten, David Thompson, and Madison Davenport. Check out these first-look images of the new movie via the Discussing Film X account:

It's What's Inside had its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival back in January 2024. Shortly after, Netflix acquired the worldwide rights to the horror flick, paying out a whopping $17 million for it. Now, it'll make its streaming debut in just a little under two months. The official trailer will most likely drop sometime in September. Don't worry. We'll definitely make sure to come back and share it once it's released. But for now, that's all we know about It's What's Inside.
