Prime Video releases trailer for Them: The Scare
With a tagline, "Fear...is no longer an option," the trailer for Prime Video’s horror anthology Them: The Scare has been released. You can watch below.
Them: The Scare follows the first season, subtitled Covenant, which took place in 1952 in Compton and followed a Black family that moved into an all-white neighborhood. According to a press release and the trailer, the next season will again take place in LA County, though in 1991. So far, we know that the story follows LAPD Detective Dawn Reeve, played by Deborah Ayorinde, who also starred in the first season. .
She’s assigned to a new case involving a heinous murder that’s left her colleagues shaken. The longer Dawn works on the case and the closer she gets to solving it, the more something sinister grips her family. A majority of the trailer focuses on the chilling murder and Dawn's determination to solve it.
Veteran actress Pam Grier is set to star as Dawn’s mother, Athena. Other cast members include Luke James, Joshua J. Williams, Jeremy Bobb, and Wayne Knight.
Series creator Little Marvin will serve as showrunner and executive producer. Them's first season, which debuted in 2021, was a horrific look at race relations in 1950s suburbia, so we’re excited to see what the second season has to offer.
Them: The Scare premieres on Prime Video on April 25.
