Shudder and AMC Networks have announced two new films that will coming to the horror streaming service this fall. As subscribers know, September and October always bring a lot of exclusive content to Shudder, thanks to their 60 Days of Halloween promo.

First up will be The Demon Disorder, co-written and directed by special effects master Steven Boyle. Boyle worked on The Matrix trilogy, King Kong and The Hobbit Trilogy, but this is his first time directing.

An Australian film, The Demon Disorder is about a family in grave danger. Graham has been estranged from his two brothers, and is still traumatized by the death of his father. When Graham’s brother Jake gets in touch with him, it’s not with good news: according to Jake, their youngest brother Phillip has been possessed by the spirit of their father, and Jake begs for Graham to help.

Graham agrees to meet with his brothers, but he isn’t really thrilled at the thought. Once the three brothers are together again, they discover that whoever or whatever is tormenting Phillip is very powerful, and equally angry.

The Demon Disorder stars John Noble (The Lord of the Rings trilogy), Charles Cottier, Dirk Hunter and Christian Willis. It will premiere exclusively on Shudder Friday, September 6, and will also be available to stream on AMC+.

Shudder has also acquired the rights to Daddy’s Head, written and directed by Benjamin Barfoot (Double Date). Julia Brown (World on Fire) and Rupert Turnbull (The Alienist) appear in the film, which is about a boy and his stepmother who are being stalked by a mysterious creature. Said creature looks just like the boy’s father, who recently died.

Director Barfoot described Daddy’s Head as “a very important film for me, as it intertwines personal feelings about family, grief and trauma with my desire to experiment with the horror genre.” Barfoot proclaimed himself to be thrilled to partner with Shudder.

Daddy’s Head will begin streaming on Shudder on October 11.
