Tatiana Maslany is set to star in The Nightbeast pilot for Amazon MGM Studios
Emmy Award-winning actress Tatiana Maslany has signed on to a new project. She is set to star in The Nightbeast, a pilot for Amazon MGM Studios. This comes a month after news broke that she would be starring in an upcoming horror flick by Longlegs director Osgood Perkin. More on the pilot below.
The Nightbeast is described as a horror comedy from Leah Rachel (Chambers) and Travis Jackson (Hemlock Grove). Peter Warren, Justin Levy, Fred Berger, Brian Kavanaugh-Jones, Kristen Campo, and Jamie Babbit are all signed on as executive producers. Babbit will also be directing the pilot. In addition to starring, Maslany will also produce.
The pilot centers around a young mother who lives a seemingly perfect suburban life but is unsatisfied with her love life. To spice things up, she begins an affair with the boogeyman in her son’s closet, an easy-on-the-eyes man named the Nightbeast. But things take a left turn when what was supposed to be a harmless affair begins to have unexpected consequences. Although who Maslany will be starring as has not been revealed, she is believed to be playing the young mother. Besides Maslany, no other actors have been cast in the pilot.
The pilot's premise is unique in my opinion, so hopefully it gets ordered to series. If it does, it'll most likely stream on Amazon Prime Video since Amazon MGM Studios is behind it.
