A frightening new teaser has dropped for Peacock's upcoming horror-thriller series Teacup from executive producer James Wan (The Conjuring, Insidious, Saw) and first-time showrunner Ian McCulloch (Yellowstone).

Based on Robert McCammon's 1988 horror-thriller novel Stinger, Teacup follows a group of people in Georgia forced to survive a mysterious threat. While Stinger is an epic sci-fi novel featuring lots of spectacle as it takes place across a single 24-hour period in Texas during an alien invasion, Teacup will be a more stripped-down version of the story. McCulloch describes the show as a "keyhole epic," a large story told through a small lens, akin to horror movies like Signs and A Quiet Place.

The new teaser, which gives us our first look at actual footage from the show, makes it look similar to another popular series, From on MGM+, which returns this September.

As you can see in the teaser, the series will take place on what appears to be an isolated, rural homestead. In Stinger, the "mysterious threat" turns out to be alien in nature, led by a giant evil creature from space. It'll be interesting to see what direction the show takes since it seems like it's going to be smaller in scale. Early teaser art shows a man wearing a gas mask, suggesting there might be a pathogen or dangerous biological weapon released.

The cast includes Yvonne Strahovski, Scott Speedman, Chaske Spencer, Kathy Baker, Boris McGiver, Caleb Dolden, Emilie Bierre, and Luciano Leroux.

Teacup premieres with its first two episodes on Peacock on Thursday, October 10, followed by two episodes weekly through Halloween. It's a relatively short series with just eight episodes, each one about 30 minutes each.

Peacock also shared some first-look images to give us a glimpse at cast members like Scott Speedman, Yvonne Strahovski, and more.
