It seems like Kiernan Shipka can't stay out of the '80s! Not long after starring in the absolute blast that was Totally Killer, Shipka is set to star in another movie in the same decade. Deadline reports that Stone Cold Fox is described as "a love letter to the American action films of the '80s" and will feature Shipka as a character escaping from an abusive commune.

Fans of the 24-year-old actress know she's no stranger to the horror genre. In addition to Totally Killer, she played Sabrina Spellman in Netflix's Chilling Adventures of Sabrina and starred alongside Emma Roberts in the Osgood Perkins film The Blackcoat's Daughter.

In Stone Cold Fox, Shipka plays Fox, a young woman who finally breaks free of the reclusive commune she's been living, only to get roped back in when the leader (Krysten Ritter) kidnaps Fox's younger sister and sends a corrupt cop (Kiefer Sutherland) to hunt her down.

Ritter, too, is a regular in genre fare, having starred in Netflix hits like Jessica Jones and Nightbooks. She's also the lead in the upcoming Orphan Black spinoff series Echoes, premiering this June on AMC+.

Apart from Shipka, Sutherland, and Ritter, Stone Cold Fox will also star Jamie Chung (Dexter: New Blood), Karen Fukuhara (The Boys), and Lorenza Izzo (The Green Inferno). Filming is scheduled to start this summer. Stone Cold Fox marks the directorial debut of Lorenza Izzo's wife, Sophie Tabet.

Note that this is a different project than the previously announced Stone Cold Fox series in development from Universal TV and Julie Plec (The Vampire Diaries), based on the novel by Rachel Koller Croft, who is also expected to write the series.

There have been many fantastic revenge thrillers over the years, especially in the horror genre, with films like I Spit On Your Grave and Revenge. It sounds like Stone Cold Fox will lean more toward action than horror, but I'm most excited to see Shipka and Ritter on screen together. Ritter is great in villainous roles, like when she played the dark fairy tale witch in Nightbooks, so I'm looking forward to seeing her play the villain again here.
