It's time to wrangle some chairs and have a good, old fashioned trailer marathon! We're having an incredible time right now as horror fans with theatrical releases like The First Omen, Imaginary and Abigail, but all sorts of other projects are in the works, many of which recently released trailers.

The first of the flicks that twill be available to put in your eyeballs is the latest from Renny Harlin: Refuge. Debuting on VOD April 19, the film follows Sergeant Rick Pedroni who was attacked by some kind of monster while serving in Afghanistan that might just be a djinn, a problem that comes to light when he gets home. The project stars Jason Flemyng (Deep Rising, Lock, Stock And Two Smoking Barrels), Sophie Simnett (Daybreak) and Raza Jaffrey (Homeland, Eastern Promises).

Harlin has a reputation for making some of the most fun movies around ranging from A Nightmare On Elm Street 4: The Dream Master and Cliffhanger to Die Hard 2 and Deep Blue Sea. Beyond Refuge, Harlin also has the new Strangers trilogy in the works as well as the plane crash survival film Deep Water.

From dessert demons we shift gears to oceanic eaters and the Something In The Water trailer. This marks the first feature directed by special effects artist Hayley Easton Street and it looks like an intense one as a shark menaces a group of friends on vacation.

The pals are played by Hiftu Quasem, Lauren Lyle, Nicole Rieko Setsuko, Ellouise Shakespeare-Hart and Natalie Mitson. Their trip to a deserted island starts off well until an injury leads to a frantic boat trip back to the mainland and a nasty run-in with a reef that leaves them floating with a bleeding woman as a shark starts harassing them. Something In The Water will swim into select theaters and VOD on May 3.

Neon has been on quite a streak lately with films like Parasite,Infinity Pool and Immaculate with hopes that Longlegs will carry on that trend. Given that the project comes from director Oz Perkins (Gretel & Hansel, The Blackcoat's Daughter) and stars cinematic powerhouse Nicolas Cage, it seems likely that the momentum will keep building.

The film stars Maika Monroe (It Follows, The Guest) as Lee Harker, an FBI agent on the hunt for a serial killer. Along the way she will stumble upon a series of events and symbols that hint at a personal link to the killer and their crimes. Alicia Witt (Urban Legend) and Blair Underwood (Deep Impact, Bad Hair) also star. This is just the latest in a series of tonally terrifying teasers released in advance of the film's July 12 release.

Finally, this one came out a little bit ago, but the Cuckoo trailer will make you reconsider the benefits of visiting those fancy resorts most of us only see on social media! The film stars Hunter Shafer as Gretchen, a young woman who moves to the German Alps to stay in a resort with her dad and his new family, including her mute half sister Alma (Mila Lieu). The mysterious Mr. Konig (Dan Stevens) rubs Gretchen the wrong way, especially when he shows particular interest in Alma. As you can see in the revealed footage, things get intense at that fancy vacation spot.

Another Neon release, Cuckoo was written and directed by Tilman Singer whose only other feature, a demonic thriller called Luz, came out in 2018. Cuckoo debuted at the Berlin International Film Festival, also played at SXSW and is scheduled for an August 9 release.
