There's a new creature feature to keep an eye on, and no, it's not the upcoming Anaconda reboot. However, that one should definitely be on your radar too! It's another giant snake horror movie called Titan, and Lionsgate has just obtained the rights to distribute the film in the United States.

We first learned of this movie back in February 2024. Resident Evil producers Constantin Film and JB Pictures were revealed to be behind the project with Mike P. Nelson (Silent Night, Deadly Night, V/H/S/85) as director. Nelson had also signed on to co-write the script with Alan B. McElroy (Star Trek: Discovery, Wrong Turn films). We later learned that Tony Giglio (Doom: Annihilation) would also be helping write the script. In addition, Robert Kulzer of Constantin Film and Jeremy Bolt of JB Pictures serve as producers. Executive producers include Sam Hall and Michael Rothstein for north.five.six.

Talented actresses Kiana Madeira and Jessica Rothe lead the cast. Both are modern scream queens. Madeira is best known for starring as Deena in Netflix's Fear Street trilogy, while Rothe is known for playing Tree in the horror film Happy Death Day and its sequel Happy Death Day 2U. Also joining them in the cast of the survival horror movie are Logan Marshall-Green, Juan Pablo Shuk, Jackson Bews, Will Close, Vicente Peña, Jaime Newball, Christophe de Geest, Mateo Moreno, and Nelson Camayo.

Set in the present day along Brazil’s Curuçá River, we follow a group of young doctors traveling through the Amazon rainforest on a humanitarian mission. However, their trip takes a dangerous turn when they attract the attention of an ancient predator lurking in the jungle. They encounter a massive and fearsome snake, known as the Boiúna, that dominates both land and water. With the creature determined to reclaim its territory, it becomes a fight for survival for the doctors.

Unfortunately, this is all that is known about Titan so far. As more information becomes available, we'll be sure to come back and share everything. Stay tuned to 1428 Elm for more!
