The official trailer for one of the most highly anticipated horror films of this year was released a couple of days ago, and it has already made a massive impact, according to Deadline. We're talking about the trailer for New Line Cinema and Warner Bros. Pictures' Final Destination Bloodlines.
Within just 24 hours of its release, the film's trailer reportedly shot up to become the second most-viewed horror movie trailer of all time, racking up a whopping 178.7 million worldwide views in that short time period. It narrowly trails behind another New Line Cinema and Warner Bros. horror hit, It, which garnered nearly 200 million global views in its first 24 hours. Based on this impressive number, it's clear that fans are beyond excited for the return of the Final Destination franchise.
With a 14-year gap since the last installment, it's no surprise that anticipation is at an all-time high. Fans are eager to see the iconic supernatural horror make its comeback, and with such a strong trailer debut, Final Destination Bloodlines is set to make a big splash when it hits theaters on May 16. I don't know about you, but I'll definitely be seated for this one!

Final Destination Bloodlines serves as the sixth movie in the Final Destination film series, following Final Destination 5 from 2011. The story was developed by Guy Busick, Lori Evans Taylor, and Jon Watts, with Busick and Taylor later crafting the full script. Additionally, Zach Lipovsky and Adam Stein took over directing duties, bringing their unique vision and fresh perspective to the iconic franchise.
In this new supernatural horror, we're taken back to the origins of the Final Destination death cycle. The film is believed to reveal how the ongoing cycle of Death and its consequences began. Based on the thrilling trailer, it seems one woman's earlier escape from Death and her survival triggers the chain of events that leads to the deadly cycle that has plagued the characters throughout the Final Destination series.
Many years ago, a woman named Iris had a premonition that she and a bunch of people would meet gruesome deaths while partying in a high-rise building. Fortunately, she was able to save her life and many others, but this angered Death. Neither she nor the others were meant to survive, and now, many years later, Death has returned to claim Iris's life and her descendants.
Here's the movie's synopsis via the official Warner Bros. website:
"Plagued by a violent recurring nightmare, college student Stefanie heads home to track down the one person who might be able to break the cycle and save her family from the grisly demise that inevitably awaits them all."
Kaitlyn Santa Juana, Teo Briones, Richard Harmon, Owen Patrick Joyner, Rya Kihlstedt, Anna Lore, Brec Bassinger, and Tony Todd are in the horror flick's cast.
