Wednesday season 2 casting news: Lady Gaga joins Jenna Ortega in second season

Big news for Wednesday fans! The highly anticipated second season just got even more exciting with the new cast addition of none other than Lady Gaga, who will be bringing star power and intrigue to the hit series. We learned of this good news from Entertainment Weekly.

Unfortunately, who the Golden Globe Award-winning actress will be playing in the second season is unknown at the moment, but EW reports that she's currently filming with the rest of the cast and crew in Europe. Production took place in Romania for season 1 but has moved to Ireland for season 2. While it's not exactly clear when filming will wrap up, there have been rumors that they'll stop shooting sometime in November. After finishing up post-production, the new episodes will then be released on Netflix in 2025.

Gaga is just the latest actor to join the Wednesday season 2 cast. Besides being a Grammy Award-winning artist, she's best known for starring in the movies A Star is Born, House of Gucci and Joker: Folie à Deux. She also had roles in the TV shows American Horror Story: Hotel and American Horror Story: Roanoke.

Previously announced cast additions for Wednesday season 2 are Steve Buscemi (Barry Dort), Thandiwe Newton (Dr. Fairburn), Billie Piper (Capri), Joanna Lumley (Grandmama), Evie Templeton, Owen Painter, Noah Taylor, Christopher Lloyd, Frances O'Connor, Haley Joel Osment, Heather Matarazzo, and Joonas Suotamo.

Jenna Ortega will reprise her role as Wednesday Addams. Enid Sinclair (Emma Myers), Catherine Zeta-Jones (Morticia Addams), Luis Guzmán (Gomez Addams), Isaac Ordonez (Pugsley Addams), Joy Sunday (Bianca Barclay), Moosa Mostafa (Eugene), Georgie Farmer (Ajax), Victor Dorobantu (Thing), Luyanda Unati Lewis-Nyawo (Deputy Ritchie Santiago), Jamie McShane (Sheriff Donovan Galpin), and Fred Armisen (Uncle Fester) make up the rest of the returning cast.

The plot for season 2 is still being kept secret, but what we do know is that we'll see Wednesday return to Nevermore Academy. We can't wait to see what supernatural mysteries she'll solve in the new season!
