6. Randy incorrectly corrects a movie reference

The first Scream film established how big of a horror geek the character of Randy Meeks was, to the point of obsessively correcting others when quoting movies if they so much as mess up one little word. Who would’ve guessed, then, that Randy himself was guilty of flubbing a quoted line?

The incident in question is during film class on the campus, when the students are discussing whether sequels can ever be as good as the original. As an example, someone names Aliens, and shortly after, another student quotes the line, “Get away from her, you bitch!”

Randy, talking about how this is film class, corrects the student to say, “I believe the line is ‘Stay away from her, you bitch!'” The class then laughs, partially at the quoting student for getting the line wrong, and also at Randy’s nerdiness in catching it and correcting it so quickly. But here’s the problem— the line actually is “Get away from her,” and not the one Randy suggested.

I suppose even the geekiest of us can get things wrong sometimes, it’s just humorous for Randy to do so, considering how peculiar he was about quoting movies verbatim.
