Ash Williams fans may not have to wait too much longer to find out if their hero has made the Mortal Kombat 11 cut. The trailer revealing the remaining characters arrives on Aug. 21.

Ash Williams. Evil Dead. Classic hero. Enough said. However, fans of the chainsaw and boomstick wielding king and Mortal Kombat 11 might get a surprise on Aug. 21. That is when the Kombat Pack DLC trailer drops with the remaining characters in the game according to The Gamer and a recent Twitter posting from Ed Boon.

Yes, I know. Everyone has been reporting that Bruce Campbell killed those rumors off when he did his now famous “finishing move” tweet. However, this isn’t necessarily the case. Shortly after Campbell issued that statement claiming that Ash will NOT be appearing in MK 11, we had a chat with him.

He revealed the following:

"“Look, I put that rumor to bed when I did that little graphic, I tweeted and that was truth at the time! The truth is a moving object in our world of entertainment. It was true there were absolutely no plans because I hadn’t heard s*** from anybody. Then I started hearing rumors and there have been chit chats between various parties. So, I’m like ok. Maybe it will happen. But the reality is when I posted that tweet it was ‘I don’t know what you guys are talking about.’”"

The actor was very adamant that while Ash Williams could pop up, it will be in a limited role. Think of it as “preparation” for the huge Evil Dead game that will be released at the end of the year.

If you have been keeping score with the MK 11 line-up, Shang Tsung was the first to enter the DLC ring, Nightwolf would appear to be next followed by Sindel and Todd McFarlane’s popular character, Spawn. However, the last two characters are enigmas for now.

More from Horror on TV

Two months ago, we had reported on another DLC leak that occurred. Apparently, when you typed in “Mortal Kombat Ash Williams” in Google you were taken to an ad that stated, “Revealing Ash Williams” in MK 11. The same thing occurred with the Terminator which is the other rumored character said to be making an appearance in MK 11.
