The full-length trailer for American Horror Story’s upcoming ninth season has finally arrived. Get a taste of the new cast of characters in AHS:1984!

American Horror Story is the long-running horror anthology series that airs on FX and is created by Ryan Murphy. The show has covered everything from witches to asylums to freakshows and everything in between.

The upcoming ninth season will focus on the golden age of slashers with a season titled 1984. We’ll follow a group of counselors as they settle into Camp Redwood, only to discover the ominous Mr. Jingles escaped a nearby sanitorium. Given what we see in the trailer, it appears he has a penchant for slitting throats!

More from American Horror Story

FX has finally released the full-length trailer for the season after weeks of short teasers. In it, we get a glimpse of Billie Lourd, Cody Vern, Emma Roberts, Leslie Grossman, and more of the cast starring in this season.

Notably absent are former American Horror Story regulars, Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters. Paulson is supposed to be included in this season in a small capacity, but otherwise, she’s working primarily on another Murphy show. Paulson is set to star in his upcoming Netflix series, Ratched. I have a theory about that.

Supposedly, this season will feature a connection to the most acclaimed season, Asylum. There is a scene in the trailer where a woman stands outside the asylum where Mr. Jingles escaped. Could it be Lana Winters? Could the Aslyum be the remodeled one from season two?

As for Peters, he’s spoken out about needing a break from the series. It has been a drain on his mental health. Given the dark characters he’s been playing on the show, it’s easy to see why anyone would need to do something different for a while.

The trailer shows this season is adapting a vintage vibe with many shots that recall the old-school slasher flicks such as Sleepaway Camp and Friday the 13th. It remains to be seen how many horror tropes the season will uphold!

Also, will Mr. Jingles actually be the killer? Or are we being misled, similar to how we were with Twisty the Clown in season four?

Check out the trailer for yourself and see what you make of it!
