Bruce Campbell in a recent interview with the Bloodbath and Beyond podcast talked about the upcoming Evil Dead video game and what exactly goes on behind the scenes.

Bruce Campbell is not only a familiar face but a recognizable voice. He has done animated movies and will be voicing a character in the upcoming Netflix zombie apocalypse series, The Last Kids on Earth.

Throughout his career, he has also been a part of several big franchise video games like The Amazing Spider-Man and obviously the Evil Dead series with titles like Evil Dead: A Fistful of Boomstick and Hail to the King. Recently, he sat down with Bloodbath and Beyond podcast to talk about the latest addition to the Evil Dead gaming series.

What we do know is that it has been delayed because as Bruce told us when we interviewed him in June, the developers are working to “get things right” so that the experience can live up to the fans’ expectations. While he can’t really discuss what the game is about, he did give a behind the scenes look at what the recording process was like for listeners of the Bloodbath and Beyond podcast at Fan Expo Canada.

Obviously, technology allows for gamers to select different outcomes for characters.  So, it stands to reason that the actors voicing them would have to give varied responses based on the players’ choices which makes perfect sense.

In Bruce’s case, this would entail recording sessions that would involve him having to tell players things like, “There’s nothing there! Move on,” or “Stop clicking that!” Perhaps the most challenging aspect of doing voiceover work would be the thousand different ways that a character has to die.

According to the actor, methods of expiration can include decapitation, being burned, electrocuted and on and on. Naturally, that means that Campbell would have to act out each of these various scenarios taxing his vocal cords. In his words:

"“I always die at the end of every session because then you blow your voice out. Once I blow my voice out there is no going back. You end doing screams falling off of cliffs and stuff like that.”"

Bruce also confirmed that there will be Easter eggs in the upcoming game so fans be on the lookout for them when the finished product is released at the end of the year.
