Bruce Campbell recently alluded to the fact that a Burn Notice reunion might be a possibility. The star of the series, Jeffrey Donovan admitted during an interview that he has an idea for a movie!

For seven seasons, Bruce Campbell played ex-Navy Seal Sam Axe on the hit USA Network series, Burn Notice. The show about Michael Westen (Jeffrey Donovan), a CIA operative who is renounced by the U.S. Government and helps those in need to this day has a significant fan base.

Once the series ended, there was some talk about Bruce’s character of Sam Axe and another “burned” agent, Jesse Porter (Coby Bell) starring in a spin-off but that never came to fruition. Despite being off the air for six years, the popularity of the spy show hasn’t waned.

In fact, several months ago, followers of stars Donovan and Campbell took to Twitter to see if the actors would be opposed to getting together for a movie. Both agreed that they would be up to the challenge.

Bruce Campbell, in a chat with San Antonio Current, stated that “we’re sort of circling the building with Burn Notice. Maybe it’s time to save the world again.” Segue to Jeffrey Donovan who is promoting his new movie Villains with Kyra Sedgwick. During his interview with UPROXX, the actor stated that not only is he all in for reuniting with the Burn Notice crew but he has an idea for a movie.

As everyone knows who watched the finale, Michael and Fiona (Gabrielle Anwar) end up in Ireland raising his nephew, Charlie while Sam and Jesse stay in Miami. Donovan feels that this is the perfect point of departure for a movie catching up with everyone.

"“I have spoken with Matt Nix about it and he likes the idea. I have spoken to Bruce and he loves the idea.”"

That being said, it could be a while before we actually see anything concrete. First of all, Nix would have to pen the venture which would take some time and then he would have to shop it around to various networks or streaming services.

Since Burn Notice was a USA Network property, they would more than likely be the number one candidate for a reunion film or Hulu is also another possibility since the series is currently streaming on the service. Plus, here we are six years later and fans are still interested in the show and want to revisit the characters.
