While we wait for Bruce Campbell to voice Ash Williams in the upcoming Evil Dead game, let’s talk about the possibility of his character finally showing up in Mortal Kombat in 2020.

Bruce Campbell had told us in our interview with him over the summer that he was voicing Ash Williams in an upcoming game that may or may not be released by the end of this year. In March, fans of the Evil Dead trilogy received a surprise when the actor’s character showed up in Dead by Daylight.

At the beginning of this month, the End of Days version of Ash from the finale of the Starz series, “The Mettle of Man” appeared in the game as a cosmetic. Then there was that persistent rumor that Campbell might end up in Mortal Kombat 11 as a guest character. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen, much to everyone’s disappointment.

So, what are the chances that Ash Williams might end up in MK11’s Kombat Pack 2 in 2020? Well, according to Game Rant, it might be “tricky” because Bruce denied any involvement with the game. That is because at the time he issued his tweet stating that he wouldn’t be featured in MK11, he hadn’t heard anything about it from his representatives.

However, he revealed to us that there were talks going on behind the scenes concerning Ash appearing in the game.

"“I started hearing rumors and there have been chit chats between various parties. So, I’m like ok. Maybe it will happen. But the reality is when I posted that tweet it was “I don’t know what you guys are talking about.”"

The Joker ended up being included in the DLC instead of Ash but fans thought that was because of the film’s pending release and Warner Brothers wanting another promotional asset for their production. Then again, perhaps a deal couldn’t be brokered for Williams to appear. We may never know.

There are several characters that seem like shoe-ins for the Kombat Pack 2. Fujin, (who is a god, similar to Raiden), has appeared in editions of MK before along with another favorite, Sheeva. Mileena and Rain much like Ash are highly requested by fans as well.

Doom Guy might make the cut since Doom Eternal is due to be released in 2020 so that would be a nice tie-in. While we can’t make any predictions, Bruce Campbell/Ash Williams fans, you may want to keep your fingers crossed because you never know what will happen in the new year.
