Dermot Mulroney stops by The Purge tomorrow night in an all-new episode in a surprisingly familiar role. Watch a sneak peek of his character right here!

If you’re watching Season 2 of The Purge then we can assume you’re a fan of the franchise and probably watched the first season too. If so, then you might recall a certain voiceover narration played a big part in one character’s purge night.

Some of you may already know that actor Insidious: Chapter 3 actor Dermot Mulroney voiced the narrator that guided Joe through his murderous evening, but for those of you who didn’t, tomorrow night’s episode should introduce a pleasant surprise!

Mulroney will officially be stepping out from behind the curtains to appear as the host of the Purge-universe radio show, The Bobby Sheridan Show.

We were lucky enough to receive a sneak peek clip of Mulroney’s role and a quote from the actor about his reprisal of the character, which you can read below.

"I play Bobby Sheridan this season, but the trick is that I also played him in Season 1, just as a voice over. It was really fun to be revealed as the voice that guided last season’s main character, Joe, through his purge night. This season is more about what takes place in between purges so you’re seeing the everyday life of a society that exists under those rules, and I play the voice of the purge, an integral part in this universe. It’s kind of a reverse Easter Egg reveal."

The clip shows Mulroney’s character, Bobby Sheridan, playing mediator between two opposing parties as they share their views on the “campus killer.” For those of you who are all caught up, you know that Ben is the murderer.

More from Blumhouse

Ever since Ben almost became purged himself on the annual night of lawlessness, he has been purging whenever he feels like it. Ben has already killed three people, but only now that Andy’s body was discovered in an elevator has he officially become a national hot topic.

The clip also verifies what happened to the girl we saw Ben stalking a few episodes ago. Apparently, security footage was leaked of him wearing his mask and following her back to her dorm. It looks like she also got purged by the out-of-control Ben.

Interestingly enough, The Bobby Sheridan Show entertains two women from completely opposite ideologies concerning purge night. They even make a reference to fake news. As usual, The Purge is dancing with the thin line between the fictional reality of the horror series and our real-world politics.
