Interrogation will let true crime aficionados attempt to solve the case themselves
By Mads Lennon
Fans of true crime shouldn’t miss out on Interrogation, a new CBS All Access series that will give its viewers the chance to solve the crime.
True crime obsessors will want to ensure they put Interrogation on their watchlist. The upcoming CBS All Access series is based on a true story that spanned more than 30 years. It follows a young man that was convicted of murdering his mother.
Each episode of the series is taken directly from the real case files. All episodes will be released this week, on Feb. 6. They can be watched in any order with the goal being that viewers get to deduce the truth behind the intense mystery. A conclusive finale will be released at a later date after audiences get the chance to try to solve the crime.
One of the reasons the series is being structured in such a way is to correlate with the way real detectives work. They don’t generally work in linear order as is suggested by the majority of crime-based series. Instead, audiences will get the chance to watch and rewatch episodes in whichever way they decide is most suited for their deductive reasoning.

That is also the reason the legitimate case the series is based on won’t be revealed so that viewers can’t “cheat” themselves out of the investigation, although the Deadline article about the series states that it may be known to those who grew up where it happened.
The series stars Peter Sarsgaard, Kyle Gallner as Eric Fisher, David Strathairn, and Kodi Smit-McPhee. Vincent D’Onofrio, Pat Healy, and Melinda McGraw will appear in recurring roles.
