JoBlo’s Deadly Duos: The dream team of Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell

Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell are the first Deadly Duo to kick off JoBlo’s new video series on famous horror pairings.

Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell are the dream team of the horror genre. It is nearly impossible to think of one man without the other’s name invariably being mentioned. So, it comes as no surprise that JoBlo’s video series, Deadly Duos would focus on them for their inaugural episode.

This ten-minute video encompasses the pair’s humble beginnings as friends growing up in Detroit all the way to Ash vs Evil Dead. Creators Steven Espinoza and Chris Vander Kaay aim to bring horror fans a visual history of great collaborations in film including actors and directors along with producers and composers.

What makes the Raimi  and Campbell compilation particularly timely is all of the recent talk surrounding Sam Raimi’s return to the MCU and taking over the reins of Dr. Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Of course, the minute that was announced fans everywhere started speculating in what capacity would Campbell show up? Bearing in mind that he had partnered on the Spider-Man trilogy with his long-time friend.

Another reason it is good to get a refresher course on this deadly duo is because another installment of the Evil Dead franchise may begin production later this year. Although it won’t feature Bruce as Ash, he will definitely be involved behind the scenes as a producer. The actor will also be assisting with casting.

It will be interesting to see who JoBlo chooses to spotlight in their next episode. Some fans have requested Jeffrey Combs and Stuart Gordon which would be a thrilling combo to delve into. Another compelling mix to focus on would be Robert Englund and Wes Craven.
