Bruce Campbell RUMOR: Ash from Army of Darkness to appear in MK 11
Another Bruce Campbell rumor is making the rounds about Mortal Kombat 11. This time in the form of a leaked email that mentions Ash Williams from Army of Darkness…
Bruce Campbell is at the center of yet another rumor. This one comes to us courtesy of IGN. Last year, Ash Williams was believed to be part of the Mortal Kombat 11 Kombat pack. It got so intense that the actor took to social media to let his fans know, “Evil Dead’s Ash will NOT be appearing in Mortal Kombat 11.”
A few weeks later after that missive, Campbell tweeted out the trailer to the game stating, “Boy, looks like a swell game – I’ll have to check it out!” So, when we had the chance to ask him to address all the idle chatter in our Ripley’s Believe It or Not! interview, he said that there may be a “little Ash in Mortal Kombat” and that he would confirm it when he could.
The actor also divulged that he started hearing that there were “chit chats” between various parties on the subject. Then the reveal for Mortal Kombat 11 came and went with no appearance from the chainsaw handed Deadite Slayer.
Now, IGN is reporting that they received an email that mentions Ash Williams from Army of Darkness appearing in Mortal Kombat 11 as a DLC fighter. Click on this link to see the communication. If this were to happen, it would be like a dream come true for fans who have been wanting this appearance to occur for years.
It will be interesting to see if NetherRealm will be able to navigate the murky rights situation surrounding Raimi’s film because there are multiple parties involved. Which leads us to wonder if Bruce Campbell will voice his iconic character?
As of yet, the actor hasn’t mentioned anything about the game. We are taking this rumor with a grain of salt until we hear otherwise.
