If you’ve been watching the Chucky TV series on SYFY, then you either met or were re-introduced to Nica Pierce in Chucky episode 5. Nica’s introduction might have caused a little confusion for those who haven’t seen the Chucky movies.

Chucky TV series: Who is Nica Pierce?

Nica’s backstory is quite tragic. Before the events of Child’s Play (1988), Charles Lee Ray attacked her mother, Sarah Pierce (Chantal Quesnelle), stabbing her in the stomach while she was pregnant with Nica, resulting in Nica being born paraplegic. Nica doesn’t make her first appearance in the movies until Curse of Chucky (2013). At the end of Curse of Chucky, Nica is committed to an asylum after the cops blame her for Chucky’s latest murder spree.

The police don’t believe her when she claims a doll did it, so she’s escorted to a hospital. When we next see Nica in Cult of Chucky (2017), she has been inside a maximum-security institution for four years under the watchful eye of the lecherous and abusive Dr. Foley (Michael Therriault). It’s in this film that Nica first meets Tiffany.

At the movie’s end, Chucky uses the voodoo ritual incantation to transfer his soul into Nica’s body. While possessed by Chucky, Nica can walk. At the end of the 2017 film, a possessed Nica drives off with Tiffany, which brings us to the series.

Who plays Nica Pierce in the Chucky TV series?

Fiona Dourif portrays Nica Pierce. Fiona has been in the business for a while, getting her start in the HBO series Deadwood.
