Boy, do we have some good news to share with you! One of the most beloved and blood-soaked horror franchises is officially returning with a brand-new sequel next year. It's been over two years since the last installment hit theaters, and fans have been eagerly waiting for more of the gruesome mayhem and demonic terror that this franchise is known for. Buckle up, because Evil Dead is back, and it's sure to bring the same level of heart-pounding horror that fans have come to love!
The new sequel is titled Evil Dead Burn, and it's coming from Warner Bros. Pictures and New Line Cinema. It serves as the sixth movie in the Evil Dead franchise, coming after Evil Dead Rise, which was released in 2023. Sébastien Vaniček and Florent Bernard co-wrote the film's script together. They previously collaborated on the French horror movie Infested, co-writing its screenplay. Besides helping pen the script, Vaniček is also signed on to direct this new Evil Dead film.
It's being co-financed by New Line Cinema and Sony Pictures with longtime Evil Dead producer Rob Tapert and series creator Sam Raimi producing. Executive producers on the project include Romel Adam, Jose Canas, Lee Cronin, and Bruce Campbell. In addition, it has been set for a theatrical release in the U.S. on Friday, July 24, 2026. This is the perfect release date as it falls just in time for summer horror fans looking for a terrifying cinematic experience!
Unfortunately, plot details for Evil Dead Burn are being kept under wraps for now. However, we can likely expect even more spine-chilling encounters with Deadites, gruesome kills, and an abundance of blood and gore. That's what the Evil Dead franchise is known for, and we can't see this new installment being any different.
As of right now, only one actor has been attached to the project so far. It's Swiss actress Souheila Yacoub, who you might recognize from her previous role as Shishakli in the epic space opera film Dune: Part Two. Her character details from the movie are being kept secret, but we're looking forward to seeing how she steps into the bloody, chaotic world of Evil Dead.
Back in December 2024, Vaniček shared a photo of the movie's script via his Instagram page. This let us know that a sixth movie was in the works, and now we have more details.
