Fan-favorite character to return for Scary Movie 6, dropping big hint about the plot

While we wait to find out if Anna Faris and Regina Hall will return for the recently announced Scary Movie 6, at least one actor has confirmed that a fan-favorite character from Scary Movie will be back for the upcoming installment. Dave Sheridan, who plays Officer Doofy in the 2000 film (a parody of Scream character Dewey Riley) recently shared that Ghostface will return.

YouTuber Josh Ludemann (@Crazydog500) posted an in-depth video with Sheridan discussing props from the original spoof movie. In it, Sheridan talks a lot about the mask from the film, along with other props and costumes they used, and he shares a lot of fascinating behind-the-scenes secrets.

Sheridan says that he can say with "100%" certainty that Ghostface will be part of the new film, which automatically gives us a hint as to the storyline that Scary Movie 6 will follow. But he further confirms it later in the video as he and Ludemann mention Scream (2022) and Scream VI specifically. Apparently, the script that the Wayans brothers are currently working on has been in development for a while, and they're fine-tuning it now and adding their signature humor.

It was previously announced that Marlon Wayans, Keenen Ivory Wayans, and Shawn Wayans will all be back for this movie, the first time they've been involved in the franchise since Scary Movie 4 in 2006.

In the video, Sheridan even discusses the aged mask worn by Ghostface in Scream VI, the film directed by Radio Silence team Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, noting that they could use the original mask from Scary Movie, age it up, and use it for a Scream VI spoof.

Marlon Wayans previously foreshadowed Ghostface's return in his Instagram post announcing the movie.
