So far, only two A24 horror films are set to be released this year, and the official trailer for one has just dropped. It's the horror-drama Opus, starring Ayo Edebiri. We've included the trailer below, along with additional details about the film, so you can get a clearer idea of what to expect from this exciting new release.

Based on the plot alone, Opus feels like an A24 movie. It has characteristics and a distinctive tone that aligns with the indie powerhouse's style, making it stand out as unique and intriguing. And after watching the trailer, it’s clear—this film screams A24.

Written, produced, and directed by Mark Anthony Green, Opus stars The Bear's Ayo Edebiri as Ariel Ekton, a young journalist ready to break a story. The opportunity comes when she’s invited to the secluded estate of pop icon Moretti, who, after years of staying out of the spotlight, is preparing to make a comeback with a new album. But soon after her arrival, Ariel becomes entangled in a dangerous game orchestrated by the legendary rock star.

Watch the trailer below and try to tell me it doesn’t make you even more excited to see this film!

In addition to Edebiri, the Opus cast includes talented actors like Amber Midthunder, Juliette Lewis, John Malkovich, Murray Bartlett, Stephanie Suganami, Young Mazino, Tatanka Means, Melissa Chambers, Aimee McGuire, and Chris Highlands. Malkovich plays the role of the reclusive pop icon Moretti, and many of the other cast members play the roles of Moretti's creepy cult, which is also in attendance at the compound.

Along with dropping the official trailer for Opus, A24 also dropped the movie's official poster. Check it out below!

After its premiere at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival on Jan. 27, Opus will hit theaters on March 14, 2025. That same month, A24 will release its other highly anticipated horror film, Death of a Unicorn, on March 28. Luckily, you won't have to choose between the two, as the films are spaced two weeks apart. I don't know if you saw the trailer for that movie, but it's also one that you don't want to miss!
