Fans will finally learn vigilante serial killer Dexter Morgan's origin story in the prequel series Dexter: Original Sin. Paramount has set the official streaming premiere date for Friday, Dec. 13, 2024. That's when it'll be available on Paramount+. However, only Paramount+ with Showtime subscribers will be granted access. Then, two days later, on Sunday, Dec. 15, the show will have its on-air U.S. debut. Make sure to save these dates!
Dexter: Original Sin is an upcoming crime drama series produced by SHOWTIME Studios and Counterpart Studios. Dexter: New Blood creator Clyde Phillips serves as showrunner and executive producer of the series. Other executive producers include Scott Reynolds (Jessica Jones), Michael C. Hall (Dexter, Six Feet Under), Mary Leah Sutton (Resident Evil), Tony Hernandez (Emily in Paris), and Lilly Burns (Russian Doll).
On Sept. 12, Paramount dropped the exciting official teaser trailer. Check it out below!
The 10-episode first season takes place in 1991 Miami. We follow a young Dexter Morgan as he transitions from a college student to a serial killer, hunting down and killing murderers who have escaped justice, all without trying to get detected by authorities. However, this won't be an easy task as he is interning for the Miami Metro Police Department.
Shadow and Bone's Patrick Gibson takes on the leading role of a young Dexter Morgan, while Michael C. Hall, who played the original Dexter in Dexter, returns to voice the inner monologue inside Dexter's head. In addition, Christian Slater portrays Dexter's adoptive father and mentor, Harry Morgan. The rest of the cast is made up of Patrick Dempsey, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Molly Brown, James Martinez, Christina Milian, Alex Shimizu, and Reno Wilson.
The official trailer is expected to drop closer to the show's premiere date. Don't worry, though. We'll make sure to come back and share it with you once it's released. All you need to do is stay tuned to 1428 Elm.
