Shudder releasing super-sized and comprehensive Child's Play doc this November

Still mourning the loss of the Syfy series Chucky? Well, we have a little bit of good news to share! This November, Shudder is releasing a comprehensive documentary on all things Child's Play and Chucky, including all of the franchise's biggest names and stars like Don Mancini, Brad Dourif, Jennifer Tilly, and more.
Described as "the ultimate account of the Child's Play film franchise and Chucky," Doc of Chucky comes from director Thommy Hutson, whose previous credits include Never Sleep Again: The Elm Street Legacy and Crystal Lake Memories: The Complete History of Friday the 13th.
It's a massive documentary, running over 290 minutes long, just shy of five hours. Per the official press release from Shudder, it appears that Doc of Chucky is one documentary film, but it's also possible the streamer will release it in several parts so that viewers can break it up. Regardless, it will cover the whole breadth of the franchise, featuring clips, photos, archival documents, and interviews with cast, crew, historians, experts, and more.
Besides the stars already mentioned, other subjects to be featured in Doc of Chucky include Catherine Hicks, John Waters, Chris Sarandon, Perrey Reeves, Fiona Dourif, David Kirschner, Gerrit Graham, and more. It'd be fun to see some of the newer cast members from the Syfy series pop up!
Sadly, Syfy recently canceled Chucky after its third season, but he also took to his social media after the news broke to assure fans that Chucky will be back at some point. It's hard to imagine him disappearing from the mainstream, especially because the killer doll has cemented himself as a genuine horror icon. I'm sure we'll be getting another Child's Play movie in the future, and hopefully, whatever the next chapter ends up being, it will wrap up the loose ends from the Chucky season 3 finale.
Doc of Chucky premieres on November 1 exclusively on Shudder.
