Most people think of warmth, family, and gift-giving during the holidays but Terrifier fans will soon be bombarded with lots of gore and screams of terror with the third film in the franchise set to release this October. Yes, Christmas is arriving early this year and the newly released Terrifier 3 trailer suggests that it's going to be an absolutely gruesome affair.

Damien Leone returns to direct the upcoming Christmas-themed slasher that sees Art the Clown returning and all decked out in Santa gear. Terrifier 2 supposedly made theater-goers pass out, but this movie will kick things up a notch as Art himself, actor David Howard Thornton came close to losing his lunch during filming. He told Empire there was a specific scene in the third film that almost made him vomit.

Said scene is apparently "very controversial" and viewers will "be surprised by the depravity that we get up to in that scene.”

It's hard to imagine anything surpassing Allie's extensive bedroom kill scene from Terrifier 2, but if anyone can genuinely up the ante from that it's Leone.

The newly released trailer from Cineverse gives us some potential clues as to what this "big" scene in question might be. Could it be the shower scene that's been teased multiple times already, where a chainsaw-wielding Art busts down the stall door to brutalize the couple bathing together? There's also another scene where Art plays mall Santa and I wouldn't blame anyone for being worried about those kids.

Other notable clips featured in the trailer show a woman covered in blood, missing an eye, screaming at what appears to be a dinner table, and what remains of the first film's final girl, Vicky (Samantha Scaffidi), yanking an intestine (?) out of her mouth.

According to some rumors I've seen circulating online, Terrifier 3 has a gruesome opening scene that takes things to another level, and later in the movie, there's another graphic kill that will make the shower scene look tame by comparison. So, assuming those leaks are correct, then that means the shower scene won't be as gratuitous as the shocking scene that follows. I'm sure it will become apparent when we see the film, which made Howard almost puke.

Aside from the blood and guts, the Terrifier 3 trailer also teases more Art the Clown lore. Sienna Shaw (Lauren LaVera) is back after having "defeated" Art in the previous film, and it looks like this time she's going to reach out for help from a strange group that includes a demon or something in a metal mask.

Needless to say, there is a lot going on in the trailer, and it'll be interesting to see what kinds of theories people come up with before Terrifier 3 makes its exclusive theatrical debut on October 11, 2024, after having its worldwide debut at Fantastic Fest next month.
