Ready or Not 2 confirmed with Samara Weaving and Radio Silence returning

Hip, hip, hooray! We finally have confirmation that a Ready or Not 2 is happening after months of speculation. On Oct. 12, Radio Silence (the team behind the first film) announced at a Searchlight screening for the 2019 film that started it all, Ready or Not, that a sequel was officially in the works. Here's everything we know so far about the upcoming Ready or Not 2.

Unfortunately, it's unknown when production will start on the film. A release date hasn't been revealed either. However, this isn't surprising, seeing as though the sequel was just announced. It'll be some time before these juicy deets are revealed. However, what we do know is that Samara Weaving will be returning. Weaving starred in the leading role of Grace in the first film.

Back in September 2024, Weaving shared her thoughts on a sequel during an interview with ComicBook.com, and she had told the news outlet that she was "all in" and that everyone else in the crew was "all in" as well. At the time, we believed that she was talking about Radio Silence since they were behind the first movie, and now we have confirmation that that's who she was talking about. Radio Silence is a filmmaking duo composed of Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett (Scream VI, Abigail). They directed Ready or Not.

Guy Busick and Ryan Murphy, who co-wrote the screenplay for the first film, are set to co-write the script for Ready or Not 2. They'll also serve as executive producers. Chad Villella and Tara Farney join them as executive producers. In addition, producers include Tripp Vinson, Bradley J. Fischer, William Sherak, and James Vanderbilt.

Plot details have not been revealed, but we're expecting an amazing sequel based on what Radio Silence told Entertainment Weekly back in April. When asked about a Ready or Not 2, Gillett told EW that a script had already been written and that it was an "absolute f---ing banger of a sequel."

Ready or Not is a horror-comedy film centering around a young bride named Grace who marries into a wealthy family. On her wedding night, she's forced to participate in a deadly game of hide-and-seek as part of a twisted wedding night ritual, where she must survive until dawn while being hunted by her new in-laws, who wield guns, crossbows, and other weapons.

Joining Weaving in the cast for Ready or Not were Adam Brody, Mark O'Brien, Elyse Levesque, Nicky Guadagni, Henry Czerny, and Andie MacDowell.
