Let the final games begin! It's a great day for Squid Game fans as Netflix has just announced the official release date for the highly anticipated third and final season. The streamer also dropped several new photos from the upcoming installment. Now, we're even more pumped about the survival thriller's return!
Are you ready to mark your calendar? If so, mark it for Friday, June 27, 2025, as that is when Squid Game season 3 will make its way to Netflix. Hardcore fans might have seen this release date coming, as Netflix seemingly leaked the release date earlier this month in a teaser video on its Netflix Korea YouTube channel. However, the streamer quickly took the video down. Well, it looks like we have confirmation now!
It's unknown at the moment how many episodes the final season will be, but there's a good chance we could be looking at another seven. Of course, a nine-episode run like the first season would be ideal, but we’re not getting our hopes up just yet. Regardless of the episode count, we're sure fans can expect an intense and thrilling conclusion to what has been an incredible series.
The Squid Game season 2 finale saw Gi-hun in a tough spot and losing someone very close to him. How he will go forward after what he's gone through is uncertain, but it’s clear that the loss and trauma will likely shape his motivations in the final season. However, he returned to the games for a reason, and that was to end them. He's come too far to give up, and we can't see him throwing in the towel. One thing’s for certain: there’s bound to be a final showdown between him and the Front Man. But the real question is, who will come out on top?
Lee Jung-jae is set to return as Gi-hun. The returning cast also includes Lee Byung-hun, Yim Si-wan, Kang Ha-neul, Wi Ha-jun, Park Gyu-young, Park Sung-hoon, Yang Dong-geun, Kang Ae-sim, Jo Yuri, Lee David, and Roh Jae-won.
