Do you remember what you did last summer? In Sony's new I Know What You Did Last Summer sequel, this is what the main protagonists will have to confront as their dark past resurfaces with deadly consequences. Thinking they got away with murder, that all comes undone when a mysterious figure begins stalking them, one who knows their secret and is hellbent on revenge.
With the highly anticipated slasher set to hit theaters this summer, Sony has just dropped a chilling new trailer confirming what fans have long suspected: The Fisherman is back and dressed in his iconic dark rain slicker and matching hat while wielding his deadly hook. He's ready to strike once again. Will this new generation of victims be able to outsmart the relentless killer? Who knows. Maybe it's not even a male, but a female instead, adding an unexpected twist to the terror. Whatever the case, the body count is about to rise, and it becomes a race against time to uncover the killer’s identity before it’s too late.
Who would've thought one summer could change everything? The seemingly close-knit friend group in the thrilling trailer above thought they got off scot-free after accidentally causing a fatal car crash and then covering it up. But as time passes, they realize their past actions have come back to haunt them. What they thought was a one-time mistake has resurfaced, as an unseen killer begins picking them off one by one. As each member of the friend group begins to meet a brutal end, the group is forced to turn to two people who are already familiar with the terror they’re facing. Those people are Julie James and Ray Bronson, survivors of the Southport Massacre of 1997.
Jennifer Kaytin Robinson (Do Revenge) helmed the slasher, which is a direct sequel to the 1997 classic of the same name and I Still Know What You Did Last Summer (1998). She also wrote the script with Sam Lansky, from an original draft she wrote with Leah McKendrick. The friend group in the movie is made up of talented actors such as Madelyn Cline, Chase Sui Wonders, Jonah Hauer-King, Tyriq Withers, and Sarah Pidgeon. Jennifer Love Hewitt and Freddie Prinze Jr. return to reprise their iconic roles as Julie and Ray. Other cast members include Billy Campbell, Lola Tung, Nicholas Alexander Chavez, Austin Nichols, and Gabbriette Bechtel.
