We finally know when we’ll be diving back into the world of The Sandman! Netflix just announced that the second and final season will drop in July 2025, and the excitement is already building. Along with the release date, the streaming giant has also given us a tantalizing teaser, offering just enough to make fans even more eager to see where Dream’s journey takes him next. As the end approaches, it's hard to believe we’ll soon be saying goodbye to Dream and the Endless, but with what promises to be an epic conclusion, the wait is sure to be worth it!

Alright. So, fans are probably not going to like this. Instead of releasing the entire season in one go, Netflix has opted to release The Sandman season 2 in two batches. This is something the streaming giant has begun doing more frequently with its bigger shows, possibly to prolong the excitement and keep people engaged for a longer period of time. However, the good news is that there won't be a huge gap between batches. The Sandman season 2 volume 1, which consists of the first six episodes, will be released on Thursday, July 3, 2025. Then, on Thursday, July 24, 2025, the second and final volume, consisting of the remaining five episodes, will be available for viewing. That means The Sandman season 2 is made up of a total of 11 episodes, giving fans plenty of story to dive into before the series comes to a close.

Netflix typically releases new seasons/parts of its shows at 12:00 a.m. PT/3:00 a.m. ET on their release dates. You can expect both volumes of The Sandman season 2 to follow the same pattern. That being said, if you're planning to dive back into the show the moment new episodes drop, make sure you're ready to stay up late or wake up early because the world of The Sandman waits for no one.

Check out the thrilling official teaser for the new season below, and tell me it doesn't make you more eager to watch the new episodes!

Netflix's The Sandman is based on The Sandman comic book series written by Neil Gaiman and published by DC Comics. Gaiman, David S. Goyer, and Allan Heinberg developed the Netflix series with Heinberg also serving as showrunner. It follows the story of Dream, also known as Morpheus, who is one of the seven Endless. They are anthropomorphic representations of the forces they personify. The first season saw Dream escape from his imprisonment and set out on a journey to reclaim his lost tools of power and restore balance to his realm.

In season 2, a few weeks have passed since the events of season 1, and Dream is working to rebuild his kingdom. He wants to move forward, leaving behind the issues of the past. However, despite his intention to focus on the future, the past still has a significant influence and presents challenges or conflicts that Dream cannot escape.

Tom Sturridge reprises his role as the titular character, Dream/Morpheus/The Sandman. Kirby Howell-Baptiste (Death), Mason Alexander Park (Desire), and Donna Preston (Despair) all return in their respective Endless roles as well. Joining the season 2 cast are Adrian Lester as Destiny, Esmé Creed-Miles as Delirium, Barry Sloane as The Prodigal, and many others.
