This 2024 AI thriller is taking Netflix by storm, quickly earning its spot as the No. 1 movie on the platform as of Dec. 6. Can you guess what film it is? No, it's not Afraid, which is also a new movie currently streaming on Netflix that revolves around artificial intelligence.
Still haven't figured it out yet? Ok, we'll just come right on out and say it. It's the sci-fi thriller Subservience starring Megan Fox. Netflix added this film to its platform on Dec. 5, and it didn't take long at all for it to rise up the streamer's top 10 movie list. We had a feeling it would rank on the list, but we were not expecting it to rank so highly. This means tons of people are watching it, and you should too!
Subservience is not a Netflix original movie. It's a film that the streamer has licensed, which means it won't stay on the platform forever. So, if you do plan on watching this movie, you might want to get to it soon. There isn't a departure date just yet, but you don't want to wait until the last minute.
Millennium Media and Grobman Films are the production companies behind Subservience. S.K. Dale directed the AI thriller from a script by Will Honley (Blood) and April Maguire. Dale is known for helming the thriller flick Till Death, which also stars Megan Fox and is currently streaming on Netflix. Subservience is his and Fox's second collaboration.
In the film, Fox plays a lifelike domestic AI gynoid named Alice. She's purchased by Nick, a man who needs the extra help around the house since he's taking care of his and his sick wife's kids by himself. After Alice is brought home, everything seems to be going well with her new family. That's until she gains self-awareness and develops a dangerous obsessive attachment towards the humans she was designed to serve.
Michele Morrone (365 Days trilogy) joins Fox in the cast, playing struggling father Nick. The rest of the cast is made up of Madeline Zima, Matilda Firth, Andrew Whipp, and Jude Allen Greenstein.

1428 Elm's Madison Lennon got the chance to see Subservience when it was released in theaters back in September, and in her review, she calls the AI thriller "a seductive and entertaining film." She also applauds the performances of the main leads, Fox, Morrone, and Zima.
If you're looking for something good and entertaining to watch for the weekend, you should definitely check out Subservience on Netflix. It'll keep you hooked from start to finish!
