1. Multiple endings were considered and two were filmed

Although I believe the ending of the theatrical cut to be satisfying with a nice little throwback to the first movie, it’s hard not to be intrigued by the original ending that they shot but have never released.

This ending starts with Chris waking up in the canoe (no change there), hearing Rick calling out her name from inside the cabin. Chris then proceeds into the cabin to meet Rick only for Jason to emerge and take her head clean off her shoulders. The filmmakers decided that this ending would be too down beat and they were not 100% happy with how Jason looked, minus the mask at the time. If you look at the still above you’ll see the make up is different to that of the theatrical cut.
